A stunning example of Northland skis made from Hickory. They are in excellent condition with perfect labels, original Strand Co. bindings and have been preserved with our natural oil and beeswax finish. A wonderful set of mid 1940's old wood skis. Its not very often you find skis with original labels and the rare Strand Ski Company bindings.
Northland Ski Manufacturing Company was founded as the C. A. Lund Company in Hastings, Minnesota by Norwegian-born Christian A. Lund back in 1911. Skis, Poles, Boots, Bindings, Toboggans, and Snowshoes were manufactured at Hastings, Minnesota, St. Paul and in Laconia, New Hampshire. By the mid 1920’s and on into the 1930s, Northland was the nation’s largest producer of Winter Sporting equipment.
